Weekly Update 10/19-10/25

Verse of the week: Psalm 139:1-16
"O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
       you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
       you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
       you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in—behind and before;
       you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
       too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
       Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
       if I make my bed in the depths,
you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
       if I settle on the far side of the sea,

 even there your hand will guide me,
       your right hand will hold me fast.

 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
       and the light become night around me,"

 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
       the night will shine like the day,
       for darkness is as light to you.

 For you created my inmost being;
       you knit me together in my mother's womb.

 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
       I know that full well.

 My frame was not hidden from you
       when I was made in the secret place.
       When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

 your eyes saw my unformed body.
       All the days ordained for me
       were written in your book
       before one of them came to be."

Wednesday, October 21
We will begin our discussion of Wall-E Wednesday, starting at 6:30. We will be talking about stewardship the next two weeks and this week we will be discussing the stewardship of our world and God's creation.  We hope you will join us.

Friday, October 16
We will be having our final tailgate of the year (weather permitting) at Bowling Green High School starting at 5:30pm and ending right before kick-off at 7:00pm. We ask that you would bring food to contribute to the tailgate, and we will supply the drinks. Come and join us for our last tailgate stop on our 2009 Tailgate Tour!

Sunday, October 18
We will be concluding our BFC and Ignite series this week. Our "Blurred Lines" and "Tug O' War" series have shown us the difference in popular thought and culture and what the Word says. Make sure to come as we finish out this series.

Sunday night we will conclude a very successful Masquerade series with a worship service from 6:00-7:30. So far we have tackled wearing masks to fit in, change your personality, hide your pain from friends and family, and last night we talked about the masks that we try to put on with God.  Sunday we are going to focus on removing all these masks and living a life as our true selves. We will also launch next month's Ignite theme. We hope you will join us in the auditorium for this great night!

Youth Retreat
We have 25 kids signed up to go on the youth retreat in a few weeks!  We are really looking forward to the trip and growing together as a family. Just a reminder that we will be having a PARENTS-ONLY meeting on November 1 from 5:30-6:00 (right before Ignite). Our sponsors for the trip will be Jared, Lindsay, Jason and Kim Gumm, and Marrissa and Trace Bryant.

Texting Updates
For those of you who have texting, we now have a texting service that will allow you to receive SMS text messages from 'The Movement' to keep you up-to-date with everything that is going on. We will continue to use all other avenues to keep everyone in the loop, but this is another way for us to stay in contact with some of you. Just go to
www.broadtexter.com/movementbgcc. And register your phone. Standard texting rates apply.

Have a great week!
